1965 - With teammate Julio Travieso & Herb McKinley, Jamaican 100 Yards Olympic Champion, after breaking the UM mile relay record (3:19:39)

1970 - Won the mile relay (4x440) yards record time of (3:39:9) representing the U.S. Naval Station, Keflavik, Iceland, at the U.S. Navy Championship, Norfolk, VA

1965 - Jamaican Olympic Stadium - We set a new record for the UM in the mile relay (4x440) yards with a record time of (3:19:39) against the Track & Field selection of the "Jamaican Athletic Association" in Kingston, Jamaica

OTHER FACTS

1963 - Miami Herald “All City Track Team” (8 months after arriving from Cuba), while attending Coral Gables Sr. High. He set (3) school track records and was the first Cuban-American to receive this recognition.

1970 - Jamaican Olympic Stadium at Kingston, Jamaica. Set a new record in the mile relay 4x440 yards against the track & field selection of the Jamaican Amateur Athletic Association.

2002 - Was one of the (3) athletes inducted into "Coral Gables Senior High Hall of Fame". Eloy (track and field, author) alongside Mike Lowell (baseball) and Frank Mercado Valdez (amateur boxing and philanthropic contributor).

2003 - Awarded the Miami-Dade “Golden Cup Award” for track and field in the university division.
